Make a meaningful impact in the classroom through a contract opportunity supporting young learners in Autism Program Classrooms. This onsite position involves working closely with children ages 5-6 facing severe cases of ASD, providing essential care and behavioral support during a critical transitional period. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and will continue through the end of October, for approximately one month.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required for RBT roles
- For Paraeducators: Valid CT Para Certification and proven experience in Autism Program Classrooms
- Comfortable providing support with toileting and diaper changing as needed
- Experienced and confident working with young children with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators and therapy teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver behavioral interventions as directed by classroom and program leaders
- Work hands-on with students in small group or 1:1 settings, following individualized plans
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured classroom environment
- Assist with daily living skills, toileting routines, and hygiene for students with intensive needs
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistency and progress
- Document daily activities, observations, and student responses
