Embark on a rewarding, month-long contract supporting young learners in an Autism Program classroom. This onsite role begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of October. Ideal for Registered Behavior Technicians and experienced Paraprofessionals, the assignment ensures essential behavioral services for children aged 5-6 with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping fill a critical gap while permanent staff are onboarded.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required for RBT applicants
- For Paraprofessionals: Demonstrated, hands-on experience in Autism Program classrooms is mandatory
- Previous work experience supporting children with severe ASD, preferably ages 5-6
- Confident and compassionate with toileting assistance, including changing diapers
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and focused while managing challenging behaviors
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct support and implement behavioral plans for students with ASD
- Foster a safe, structured, and positive environment tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and school staff to reinforce learning and behavioral strategies
- Assist with daily care routines, including toileting and hygiene as needed
- Document progress and provide consistent feedback to the Autism Program team
