Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) supporting high school students in a special education setting near Norwich, CT. This full-time contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact, providing individualized behavioral and educational support to students who benefit from your skill and dedication.
You’ll work weekdays from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, closely collaborating with educational teams to help students achieve their goals. Compensation for this position ranges from $22.43 to $30.23 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering one-on-one behavioral and educational interventions within a high school special education program.
- Implementing individualized behavior intervention and skill-acquisition plans, following the guidance of a supervising professional.
- Supporting the development of communication, social, academic, adaptive, and independent-living skills.
- Engaging with students both in the classroom and during group activities to ensure safety, inclusion, and progress.
- Collecting, maintaining, and reporting accurate behavioral and skill-development data.
- Upholding classroom, behavioral, and safety procedures consistently.
- Assisting with classroom routines, student transitions, and participation in daily activities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through BACB or eligibility and willingness to obtain this credential.
- Completed RBT training and competency assessments.
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Ability to pass required background and school-based clearances.
- Direct experience with students requiring special education support, preferably in a high school environment.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavior intervention, and precise data collection.
