A rewarding opportunity awaits for an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) ready to make an immediate impact with a local school district near Oakland, CA. This full-time, contract position spans 30-32 hours per week, providing essential behavioral support to a kindergarten student in a special day class setting for the remainder of the school year.
In this role, you’ll work on-site, collaborating closely with educational teams and delivering one-on-one interventions designed to foster student engagement and success. Your expertise and dedication can help shape an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential required
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric special education setting strongly preferred
- Must live locally; candidates from outside the area or seeking travel assignments will not be considered
- Familiarity with providing behavioral interventions under BCBA supervision (Note: Supervision is supplied by the staffing agency)
- Ability to successfully complete both the school district’s and our agency’s onboarding and fingerprinting processes
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans for a kindergarten student within a special day class framework
- Collect and track behavioral data and progress, adapting strategies as directed by the supervising BCBA
- Communicate regularly with teaching staff, special education teams, and family members as appropriate
- Maintain a professional, empathetic approach to working with students requiring additional behavioral support
