Working 1:1 with a resident who benefits greatly from skilled, consistent intervention, you’ll become an essential part of their journey towards greater independence and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct behavioral support using individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Offer steady 1:1 assistance during daily routines and community outings
- Accurately collect and report data on target behaviors and progress toward skill acquisition
- Apply approved crisis intervention strategies for de-escalating challenging situations
- Facilitate life skills development, including hygiene, communication, and daily living tasks
- Collaborate closely with a supervising BCBA and residential care team to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment for the individual
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RBT certification (required)
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with high behavioral needs
- Strong foundation in ABA principles and behavior reduction strategies
- Confident use of crisis prevention and intervention techniques
- Reliable, patient, and professional character
- Commitment to confidentiality and thorough documentation
Schedule & Assignment Details:
- Approximately 15 hours per week
- Some flexibility in scheduling (afternoons, evenings, or weekends may be considered)
- Consistent assignment supporting the same individual to foster rapport and progress
