A dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is needed for a contract role supporting a middle school student with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a school-based setting near Oceanside, CA. In this impactful opportunity, you will provide critical one-on-one support throughout the school day, collaborating with education professionals and behavioral support staff to ensure consistency and structure for the student.
This assignment offers a steady Monday–Friday schedule from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, totaling 32.5 hours per week. Compensation for this role ranges from $24.00 to $33.00 per hour, reflecting your commitment and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized behavioral and academic assistance in a structured environment
- Implement behavior intervention plans and utilize ABA strategies to promote progress
- Support skill development, manage avoidance behaviors, and address peer interactions or conflicts
- Identify behavioral triggers and apply proactive, preventative interventions
- Utilize professional de-escalation techniques as needed during behavioral incidents
- Collect and report data related to behaviors and student achievements
- Collaborate with teachers and the school-based support team to share insights and track progress
- Foster the development of positive communication, effective social skills, and increased student autonomy
- Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive demeanor in all student interactions
Required Qualifications:
- Current RBT registration through the BACB
- Valid CPI certification
- Experience working with students with ASD strongly preferred
- Background in ABA, behavior intervention, or school-based support highly valued
- Ability to recognize and address behavioral triggers appropriately
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and patience
