This opportunity is for a full-semester contract position based in Oxford, AL, within a K-12 school setting. The district is opening a specialized behavior classroom designed similarly to an occupational therapy room, where students with specific behavioral needs will visit the room throughout the day. The role involves working full-time, approximately 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with a start date as soon as possible.

Candidates must be either a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). RBTs will require supervision as the funding for this position is grant-supported. The successful candidate will primarily remain in the behavior classroom, serving as a consistent presence and resource for students requiring behavioral support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized behavioral support to students throughout the school day.
  • Maintain a supportive and structured classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with supervising BCBAs if the candidate holds an RBT credential.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and administration regarding student needs.
  • Ensure compliance with behavioral intervention plans and school policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Experience working with children in K-12 educational settings.
  • Ability to manage a classroom environment focused on behavioral interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of behavior management techniques and data collection methods.
