Make a direct impact on student growth and learning by bringing your skills as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to a dynamic integrated pre-school environment. You'll serve as a 1:1 support for a pre-school student with autism, engaging with a child who has unique communication needs, a short attention span, and an abundance of lively energy.
Within a classroom of 8 young learners, you will work collaboratively with an experienced SPED teacher and two paraprofessionals to create a supportive and structured learning atmosphere. This contract opportunity is offered near Pawtucket, RI, and allows for either full-time or part-time hours to accommodate your schedule—choose full days from 9:15am to 3:30pm, or a morning shift from 9am to 12pm.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Experience supporting early childhood students, especially those with ASD
- Strong understanding of behavioral intervention strategies and positive reinforcement
- Ability to tailor communication techniques to individual student needs
- Warmth, patience, and flexibility working in a team setting
- Commitment to fostering growth, independence, and engagement in young learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized 1:1 support, helping your assigned student participate in both classroom and therapeutic activities
- Implement behavior intervention plans under supervision of the SPED teacher and BCBA
- Model appropriate communication strategies and facilitate social interactions
- Collect and document data on student progress and behaviors
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff and paraprofessionals to ensure a consistent, positive environment
