Registered Behavior Technician - Spartanburg, SC

A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) working under the guidance of a BCBA. This position supports an elementary-aged student with a 2:1 staff ratio, focusing on strategies such as verbal redirections and proactive interventions for work avoidance behaviors. The role involves working within a school environment near Spartanburg, SC, providing critical assistance to help the student reach academic and behavioral milestones.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
• Experience with elementary school-aged children, particularly males, is preferred
• Ability to implement BCBA-developed behavior intervention plans
• Skilled in de-escalation, verbal redirection, and positive reinforcement techniques
• Understanding of managing aggressive behavior in escalated situations
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
• Effective communicator able to collaborate with educators, therapists, and families

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 and 2:1 support to the assigned student during scheduled hours
• Carry out behavior intervention plans and collect detailed behavior data
• Engage in verbal redirections and proactive behavior support to foster a positive learning environment
• Respond appropriately to instances of work avoidance or escalation, utilizing safe and approved strategies
• Maintain clear communication with the supervising BCBA regarding student progress and concerns
• Collaborate with the school team to ensure consistency in intervention strategies
• Uphold professional standards while working within the school setting
