A contract position is available for an individual dedicated to supporting elementary-aged students with special needs. This role offers full-time hours, working on-site during the academic year, and provides the chance to work closely with a dedicated district Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is highly valued, but candidates with a background in supporting children with special needs and experience addressing behavioral challenges are encouraged to apply.
- Paraprofessional experience, particularly in a school setting, is advantageous.
- Crisis Intervention training is considered a significant asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic educational environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a first-grade student, helping them succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally.
- Collaborate closely with the district BCBA to implement individualized behavior intervention plans and instructional strategies.
- Track student progress and maintain detailed records to support ongoing program development.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviors and promoting a safe, positive learning atmosphere.
- Partner with teachers and other school staff to support the student’s integration and participation in daily activities.
