A contract position is available for an individual dedicated to supporting elementary-aged students with special needs. This role offers full-time hours, working on-site during the academic year, and provides the chance to work closely with a dedicated district Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is highly valued, but candidates with a background in supporting children with special needs and experience addressing behavioral challenges are encouraged to apply.
  • Paraprofessional experience, particularly in a school setting, is advantageous.
  • Crisis Intervention training is considered a significant asset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic educational environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a first-grade student, helping them succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally.
  • Collaborate closely with the district BCBA to implement individualized behavior intervention plans and instructional strategies.
  • Track student progress and maintain detailed records to support ongoing program development.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviors and promoting a safe, positive learning atmosphere.
  • Partner with teachers and other school staff to support the student’s integration and participation in daily activities.
