A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide essential support within school settings in Washington, DC. This role focuses on delivering direct therapy services under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), primarily serving individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Therapy Implementation: Execute behavior intervention plans developed by a supervising BCBA to support individualized client goals.
- Skill Acquisition: Teach new skills including social interaction, daily living activities, and communication strategies such as requesting items.
- Behavior Reduction: Apply Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to decrease maladaptive behaviors, including tantrums and self-injurious actions.
- Data Collection: Accurately track and record client progress and behavioral changes to assist the BCBA in evaluating the effectiveness of intervention plans.
- Client Support: Provide consistent, ethical, and high-quality care in natural environments like schools, ensuring a supportive atmosphere that fosters growth and learning.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required.
- Experience working with children or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques.
- Ability to follow detailed intervention plans accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
