Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required
- For Paraprofessionals: Current Connecticut Para Certification and proven experience in autism support classrooms
- Confident working with children aged 5-6 with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Ability to assist with toileting needs and comfortable with diaper changes
- Collaborative spirit and adaptability in a classroom setting
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct behavioral and instructional support to young students with ASD in a structured classroom environment
- Implement individualized strategies, behavior intervention plans, and reinforcement systems under supervisor guidance
- Support students during daily routines, transitions, and personal care activities
- Document observations and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to track progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment ensuring safety and well-being of all students
