Step into a full-time opportunity supporting 1st grade students during the Extended School Year in a dedicated one-on-one environment. Located in the vibrant community near Woodbridge, VA, this contract-to-hire position focuses on making a measurable difference for young learners with behavioral needs. You’ll collaborate closely with onsite administration, ensuring exceptional support as you provide specialized attention to students with Autism and ADHD.

This role is ideal for compassionate professionals who are passionate about fostering student growth through individualized intervention and targeted behavior strategies.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Licensed as a BCBA or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or certified Special Education Teacher
  • Direct experience working with children on the Autism spectrum and/or with ADHD is highly valued
  • Previous work in school or special education environments
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and observational skills
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor behavior plans
  • Patience and adaptability to work one-on-one with elementary-aged children

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instructional and behavioral support to 1st grade students in a one-on-one format
  • Collaborate with administrative staff and other specialists to address behavioral and educational needs
  • Develop, assess, and adjust instructional and behavioral intervention plans
  • Track progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates to both families and the educational team
  • Provide a structured, encouraging, and safe learning space for students with behavioral challenges
