Reading Specialist - Chester, PA

Qualifications:

• Valid PA Reading Specialist certification and active PA licensure
• Proven experience as a Reading Specialist in school settings
• Comfortable working in an urban educational environment
• Demonstrated mastery of literacy subject matter and instructional best practices
• Strong classroom, instructional, and behavioral management skills
• Previous experience and confidence managing elementary caseloads
• Ability to craft lesson plans aligned to state and district standards
• Skilled in differentiating instruction and utilizing resources to drive student growth
• Must be able to complete all required PA clearances prior to the start date
• Dependable transportation required
• Willingness to participate in a Zoom interview

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement reading intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs
• Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative tools
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to optimize literacy instruction
• Create engaging, standards-based lesson plans that encourage student participation and achievement
• Foster a positive, productive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation on student achievement and intervention outcomes

This contract runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, for 37.5 hours weekly. There is one opening available for this rewarding, full-time role.
