Special Education Reading Specialist | Chester, Pennsylvania

Advance your career as a Reading Specialist supporting K-8 students in an engaging educational environment. You’ll join an onsite team, working 35 hours per week with a caseload that spans kindergarten through eighth grade. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through June 10, 2027.

What We're Seeking:

• Reading Specialist certification and active PA certification/licensure (required)
• Demonstrated mastery of reading instruction, subject matter expertise, and experience with current instructional resources
• Prior school-based experience and a strong background in urban school settings
• Comfort and adaptability working within the district and location
• Exceptional classroom and behavioral management abilities
• Skilled in designing lesson plans that align with state/district standards, using formative assessment, and differentiating instruction
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
• Reliable transportation to the school site
• Readiness to participate in a virtual (Zoom) interview

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
• Deliver targeted reading instruction across elementary grade levels (K-8)
• Use assessment data to inform instructional practice and provide differentiated support
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to promote student progress
• Maintain thorough records and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders
• Support classroom management and contribute positively to school culture
