Special Education Reading Specialist - Hooksett, New Hampshire

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Reading Specialist to foster literacy achievement for students in grades K–8. This anticipated contract position will focus on providing targeted reading interventions in a supportive school setting near Hooksett, NH, for the 2026–2027 academic year. Start and end dates are expected to run from ASAP through mid-June, with specific weekly hours and assignment details to be determined.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, targeted reading interventions to K–8 students.
• Conduct literacy assessments and closely monitor student progress.
• Analyze assessment data to create individualized intervention plans.
• Guide and support classroom teachers in implementing evidence-based literacy practices.
• Participate in student support meetings and contribute to IEP processes as appropriate.
• Assist with organizing and executing school-wide reading initiatives.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid or eligible New Hampshire Reading and Writing Specialist certification.
• Solid background in literacy instruction, intervention, and assessment.
• Experience supporting students who require academic intervention.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers, families, and allied professionals.
• Familiarity with MTSS frameworks and data-driven instructional decision-making is preferred.
