Dyslexia Special Education Reading Specialist | Irving, Texas

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid General Teaching Endorsement
• Certification and formal training in either Take Flight or Reading By Design
• Active listing in the ALTA Registry or as a licensed dyslexia therapist/practitioner via the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
• Experience as a reading specialist and/or working with dyslexic students in school settings
• Strong communication skills and collaborative spirit

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver structured, therapeutic reading interventions using approved programs (Take Flight or Reading By Design)
• Conduct assessments, develop individualized plans, and monitor student progress
• Collaborate with other educators, administrators, and families to foster student achievement
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to district procedures and policies
• Provide support and resources for colleagues and families regarding dyslexia and reading challenges
