Make a significant impact on early literacy as a Reading Specialist with a focus on library media for students in PreK–2nd grade. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from mid-August through the end of May 2027. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the proper endorsement(s)
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and reading instruction
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Prior experience supporting K-2 students or with early elementary library/media preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct reading intervention and support to students in grades K–2
- Manage and facilitate library media resources, integrating them into classroom curriculum
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance literacy instruction and foster an engaging learning environment
- Design and implement targeted instructional plans tailored to the diverse needs of young learners
- Track student progress, assess reading levels, and adjust support strategies as needed
- Serve as a literacy advocate, promoting reading initiatives and best practices school-wide
