Reading Specialist - Media, PA

Make an immediate impact as a Reading Specialist supporting elementary and K-8 students in a dynamic school environment on a full-time, contract basis. Two opportunities are available for dedicated professionals who are passionate about literacy and empowering young learners. This on-site assignment runs 35 hours per week and extends through June 10, 2027, offering a stable and meaningful position within a vibrant educational setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Reading Specialist certification and active PA teaching certification/licensure
• Proven ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of reading instruction and related subject matter
• Experience working in a school-based setting, preferably with elementary and K-8 students
• Adept at designing effective lesson plans aligned to current state and district standards
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills
• Previous experience working in urban schools is essential
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on ongoing formative assessments
• Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
• Familiarity and comfort with the expectations and culture of the district and local community
• Must complete all required Pennsylvania clearances prior to start

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted reading interventions and support students individually or in small groups
• Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans that foster literacy growth and student engagement
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to enhance student outcomes
• Utilize current instructional strategies and resources to address diverse learning needs
• Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain high standards of practice
