Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive health services and first aid to students and staff in accordance with school policies
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students with chronic conditions, medical plans, and medication administration
- Conduct health screenings, illness assessments, and provide health education tailored to age-appropriate needs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided and ongoing student needs
- Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and participate in development of health-related protocols in the school environment
- Offer guidance and training to staff on relevant health concerns and procedures
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Active RN license (unencumbered) in the state of Virginia or eligibility for licensure
- Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing settings preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational abilities
- Ability to adapt interventions for diverse populations and varying school needs
- CPR/BLS certification required
