School Registered Nurse | Allentown, Pennsylvania

This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN) who are passionate about children’s health and seeking to positively influence the school environment. You’ll work closely with faculty, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safety and wellness throughout the academic year—and may support unique events such as field trips and student camps.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current, active RN or LPN/LVN license in the state
• Previous nursing experience in a school, pediatric, or camp setting preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Experience responding to student healthcare needs, managing medication administration, and handling medical emergencies
• Adaptability and ability to work independently across different locations, including in-class support and off-site events
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and families
• Strong documentation and organizational abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver routine and emergency medical care to students and staff during school hours
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policy
• Respond promptly to medical incidents and provide first aid as needed
• Support students with chronic conditions (such as diabetes, asthma, allergies, and epilepsy)
• Maintain accurate health records and uphold student privacy standards
• Accompany students on field trips and to camp settings, providing continuous health support as required
• Collaborate with educators and administrators to promote wellness and a safe learning environment

This is a contract position offering the flexibility to work during the academic year and participate in special school events like field trips and student camps.
