School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Anderson, South Carolina

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a high school student as a dedicated 1:1 RN for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse who enjoys making a meaningful impact in a school environment and prefers a consistent schedule with built-in midweek downtime. You’ll work approximately 30 hours each week, with Wednesdays off, providing continuity of care and encouragement to a student who is physically paralyzed but cognitively high functioning.

In this role, you’ll accompany the student throughout their school day, including bus rides, ensuring safety, facilitating medication administration if needed, and acting as a knowledgeable advocate. Your compassionate manner and clinical expertise will positively influence this student’s school experience, creating a supportive and inclusive environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license
• Prior experience in a school setting or pediatric nursing preferred
• Skilled in 1:1 care, with sensitivity to physical and emotional needs
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability and willingness to accompany student on daily bus rides

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care, including assistance with activities of daily living as needed
• Monitor student’s condition, communicate updates to school staff and family
• Ensure medical protocols are followed and documentation is complete
• Create a safe and supportive environment throughout the school day and transit times
• Coordinate with educators and support staff to integrate the student into all aspects of high school life
