1:1 Licensed School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Anderson, South Carolina

Make an impact every day by providing personalized care and support to a high school student as a 1:1 nurse in a rewarding contract assignment. This position requires either a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with experience in ventilator care. You’ll work closely with a student who is paralyzed yet cognitively high functioning, facilitating their daily school attendance while ensuring safety and comfort.

Highlights of the assignment include a manageable 30-hour workweek and Wednesdays off, aligning well with work-life balance needs. A key part of this role is accompanying the student on the school bus, ensuring seamless care from home to classroom and back.

Your skills and experience should include:

• RN or LPN license (must be active and in good standing)
• Ventilator care experience (required for LPNs, preferred for RNs)
• Prior experience in a school, pediatric, or 1:1 nursing environment is preferred
• Ability to work independently, adapting to both medical and daily living needs
• Dedicated advocacy for student safety, dignity, and participation in school activities
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with school staff and families
• Certification in CPR and First Aid

Primary responsibilities:

• Delivering 1:1 nursing care to a high-functioning, paralyzed student
• Monitoring and managing ventilator equipment as needed
• Administering medications, treatments, and personal care
• Riding the bus with the student and providing support during transit
• Documenting care and reporting health updates to the appropriate parties
