Join an impactful opportunity supporting a high school student as a dedicated nurse in a contract role. This position involves providing 1:1 care for a student who is paralyzed but maintains high cognitive function, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in their daily educational journey. You'll work 30 hours per week, with a consistent schedule that gives you Wednesdays off since the student does not attend classes that day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current RN license or LPN with ventilator experience
  • Certification in school nursing (preferred)
  • Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is a plus
  • Ability to provide compassionate care in a 1:1 setting
  • Comfortable riding the school bus as part of the daily routine
  • Commitment to upholding confidentiality and student dignity at all times
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, parents, and students

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on medical care to support the student's health and ensure safety during the school day and transportation
  • Monitor the student’s condition, administer treatments, and respond to any health-related needs
  • Maintain thorough documentation of care and updates for school and medical records
  • Serve as an advocate for the student, supporting their independence and engagement in school activities
  • Collaborate with school staff, family, and any involved healthcare providers to coordinate care
