This contract position offers a 30-hour work week, supporting a cognitively high-functioning student who is paralyzed and requires specialized care, including vent management. The role includes bus riding to and from school, ensuring safe and attentive support during transit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing care for a high school student with paralysis
  • Manage and monitor ventilator use, ensuring patient safety
  • Support the student during bus rides to and from school
  • Collaborate with school staff to meet medical and developmental needs
  • Document patient status and any changes in condition accurately

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) required; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with vent experience considered
  • Experience working in school settings preferred
  • Certification in relevant school nursing and patient care credentials
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused care for a student with complex needs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and family

Additional Details:

  • The student attends school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; Wednesdays are off
  • Position based in Anderson, SC, requiring onsite presence during school days
