1:1 High School School Registered Nurse (RN) in Anderson, SC

Make a meaningful impact by supporting a bright, motivated high school student as a 1:1 nurse in a school setting. This contract position offers the opportunity to build a rewarding professional relationship while providing essential care during the academic day and bus rides. You’ll work 30 hours per week with Wednesdays off, as the student does not attend school those days. Both RNs and LPNs with ventilator experience are welcome to apply.

Qualifications:

• Current RN or LPN license, certified to practice in the relevant state
• Strong background in pediatric or adolescent nursing, preferably in a school environment
• Previous hands-on experience with ventilator-dependent individuals
• Compassionate approach and commitment to supporting students with significant physical disabilities
• Comfortable riding the bus to and from school with the student
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with school staff, the student, and their family
• Ability to work independently and adapt to the student's needs throughout the day

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing care for a high school student who is paralyzed but cognitively high functioning
• Monitor and manage ventilator equipment and respond promptly to any medical needs during the school day and bus transport
• Support the student’s participation in school activities, encouraging academic and social engagement
• Maintain detailed documentation of care provided and communicate relevant updates to caregivers and educational staff
• Foster a trusting, respectful relationship that empowers the student and champions their independence
