Certified High School Registered Nurse School Setting in Anderson, SC

A licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with ventilator experience is needed to provide one-on-one care for a high school student in a school setting. This contract position is located in Anderson, SC, and offers approximately 30 hours per week with Wednesdays off.

The student requires specialized nursing support due to paralysis but is cognitively high functioning, necessitating skilled and compassionate care throughout the school day. Bus riding is an essential component of the role, as the nurse will accompany the student during transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care tailored to a paralyzed high school student in a one-on-one setting
• Monitor and manage ventilator support and related medical equipment
• Coordinate with school staff to ensure a safe and supportive educational environment
• Accompany the student on the school bus to and from school
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and communicate effectively with parents and healthcare providers

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN or LPN license
• Ventilator care experience is required, especially for LPN candidates
• Ability to work independently while providing attentive and compassionate care
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care is preferred
