Registered Nurse School Setting in Ann Arbor, MI

An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about supporting student health and wellbeing in an educational environment. This contract position involves collaborating closely with the district RN to deliver comprehensive nursing care to students across the district. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the current school year, offering a part-time schedule of 25-30 hours per week.

What we are looking for:

• Current, active RN license in the state of Michigan
• Experience in school nursing or a similar pediatric/educational setting (preferred)
• Strong assessment skills, and ability to manage acute and chronic student health needs
• Proficiency in developing student health plans and documentation
• Competency in conducting staff training sessions, including CPR, first aid, and emergency protocols
• Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment

Key responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to emergency and routine student health issues
• Collaborate with the district RN to create, review, and update individualized student health plans
• Train school staff on implementation of student health plans and relevant medical procedures (e.g., CPR, first aid, seizure management)
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource on student health matters, educating staff and supporting families
• Maintain accurate health records and follow all applicable regulatory guidelines
