Desired Skills and Experience:

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Michigan
• Previous experience in a school setting highly preferred
• In-depth knowledge of school health procedures, chronic disease management, and emergency response
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
• Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with IEP/504 processes for students with individualized health needs
• BLS/CPR certification required

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care for illness, injury, and chronic conditions during school hours
• Administer medications and medical procedures as authorized by provider orders
• Develop and update individual health plans for students with unique needs
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings, offering professional insight on student health matters
• Educate students, families, and staff on health topics, prevention, and best practices
• Maintain accurate, confidential health records in accordance with state and district policies
• Collaborate with school staff and local health professionals to support wellness initiatives and response plans
