Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted Illinois RN license
• Previous experience as a School RN or in a similar school-based healthcare role
• In-depth knowledge of school nursing best practices and relevant Illinois state regulations
• Ability to manage medical records and uphold confidentiality standards
• Strong assessment, communication, and triage skills
• Adaptability and a collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams
• CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care to students for illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions
• Ensure medication administration and health procedures are performed accurately
• Support and participate in health screenings, immunization compliance, and individualized health plans
• Maintain detailed, up-to-date health records in alignment with district and legal standards
• Educate students and staff on health topics, safety procedures, and wellness initiatives
• Respond efficiently to health emergencies or urgent school medical needs
• Drive communication between families, educators, and healthcare providers
• Focus on supporting the RN renewal process throughout the school year
