School Registered Nurse (RN) in Arlington Heights, IL

Step into a vital school-based nursing role serving a supportive community of families, students, and educators. This contract opportunity runs from January 6, 2027, through June 4, 2027, and is located at a middle school with approximately 1,000 students across two campuses. As an RN, you’ll play a critical part in caring for students in grades 6–8 and coordinating health services within the nurse’s office, while lending support to the district’s elementary school as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Current and valid RN license required
• CPR and BLS certifications (active and up-to-date)
• Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care is highly valued
• Ability to respond efficiently to health emergencies and routine student needs
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Compassion, professionalism, and the ability to work independently

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver day-to-day health care for middle school students—administering medication, providing first aid, and managing chronic health conditions
• Maintain detailed health records in compliance with school policies and legal requirements
• Educate students and staff about wellness, healthy habits, and disease prevention
• Serve as a point of contact for parents regarding student health issues
• Support the district’s elementary school as required
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to ensure a safe, healthy environment
