As a Credentialed School Nurse, you will serve PreK and K-12 populations, fostering wellness and providing essential services across multiple campuses throughout the week. This important position offers the stability of a 40-hour workweek, working with the Aromas/San Juan area and broader school communities.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license with valid School Nurse Services Credential
- Previous experience working as a school nurse, particularly with PreK or K-12 students
- Strong knowledge of pediatric health, immunization protocols, and IEP/504 requirements
- Skilled in communication with students, parents, educators, and administrators
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a health and educational team
- Reliable organizational and recordkeeping abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage daily health office needs, including first aid, medication administration, and health screenings
- Develop and update individualized health care plans for students with specific medical needs
- Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, and families to ensure student safety and well-being
- Monitor and maintain required health records and documentation according to state guidelines
- Participate in student IEP or 504 meetings as a health expert and advocate
- Promote healthy practices, provide health-related education to students and staff, and respond to public health issues as they arise
