Bring your dedication and expertise to an impactful role supporting student health in a dynamic elementary school environment. We’re seeking a compassionate Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to provide vital one-on-one care for a 1st grade student with a tracheostomy on a full-time contract.
In this position, you will be the student's primary in-person support for daily medical needs throughout the school day, working closely with school staff and other nursing professionals as part of a collaborative team. Your skills and attention will help ensure a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom experience for this young learner.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active CNA license in Colorado
- Previous experience working with pediatric patients required
- Direct care experience with tracheostomy management strongly preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with school personnel and parents
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive 1:1 support to a student with a trach during the school day
- Monitor respiratory status, maintain trach site, and perform necessary suctioning
- Assist with activities of daily living to support educational participation
- Collaborate with the school RN and educators to maintain a safe environment
- Document care provided in accordance with school and state guidelines
