An exciting opportunity awaits Registered Nurses who are passionate about making a difference in a school setting. This contract position involves providing dedicated support during morning and afternoon van transportation for a medically complex student. Located near Ashland, MA, this role currently offers 5 hours per week, with the potential to expand to more or even full-time hours in the near future as additional details become available.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in educational or pediatric settings
  • Skilled in monitoring and responding to medical needs, particularly complex cases
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, transportation staff, and families
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Professional, reliable, and compassionate demeanor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany a medically complex student during both morning pickup and afternoon drop-off transportation to ensure safety and immediate care if needed
  • Monitor the student’s health throughout the transport, administering medications or interventions in accordance with medical directives
  • Collaborate with school staff, transportation personnel, and healthcare providers to support continuity of care
  • Document relevant health information and follow established protocols for emergencies or unexpected medical events
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all applicable policies and privacy standards

This contract role offers a unique chance to support a student’s access to education while working in a low-hour, high-impact capacity. As the school gathers further details, there is potential for the position to expand to more hours or a full-time schedule within a month or so, offering flexibility and room for growth.
