School Registered Nurse (RN) in Attleboro, MA

Step into a rewarding role supporting the health and wellness of young students as a dedicated school nurse. Working on a contract basis, you'll be part of a caring educational community serving approximately 540 children from PreK through 3rd grade. The role is full-time, with hours from 8:15am to 3:15pm, totaling 35 hours each week. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, healthy environment for both students and staff throughout the school year.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Active RN license required
• Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing strongly preferred
• Confident clinical skills in tube-feeding, catheter care, and diabetic management
• Strong communication abilities with children, families, and education staff
• Organizational skills to effectively track and document care provided
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies

Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily health care services, triaging student needs in a busy school clinic
• Administer medications and perform medical procedures as needed
• Monitor students with chronic conditions, especially those requiring tube-feeding or diabetic management
• Provide catheter care and manage associated records
• Advise staff on student health plans, medication, and safety
• Support students’ return to class and learning, minimizing health-related disruptions
• Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding students’ needs and health plans
• Uphold all school and state health protocols, documentation, and confidentiality standards
