School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Augusta, Maine

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current and valid RN license in Maine (or compact state)
• Experience in a school nursing, pediatric, or public health environment preferred
• CPR and First Aid certifications (current)
• Strong assessment, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care, assessments, and first aid for students and staff
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
• Implement and oversee individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions
• Provide health education and promotion to students, parents, and staff
• Administer medications and perform necessary medical procedures during school hours
• Coordinate care with teachers, counselors, and external healthcare providers as needed
• Support health screenings, immunization tracking, and infection control protocols
