Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active CNA certification in Colorado
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations, ideally in a school or childcare setting
- Familiarity with tracheostomy care and respiratory equipment
- Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, students, and families
- RN Nurses with relevant skills welcome to apply
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, 1:1 daily care to a first-grade student with a trach, ensuring health and safety needs are met throughout the school day
- Perform ongoing monitoring of the student’s medical status and document care details
- Administer trach care, suctioning, and equipment checks as required for the student’s well-being
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, school nurses, and the student’s care team
- Support the student’s participation in classroom activities while promoting their independence
- Communicate important observations or changes in the student’s condition promptly to appropriate staff or medical professionals
