This opportunity involves providing dedicated 1:1 care for a kindergarten student managing diabetes during a Summer Special Education Program. The program runs from July 6, 2026, to August 14, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 8:15am to 11:30am. For nurses who make a great fit, the assignment will renew for the following school year, extending from September 8, 2026, to June 24, 2027, with hours Monday through Friday from 9:15am to 3:45pm.

What We’re Seeking:

• NYS-licensed Registered Nurse
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
• Familiarity with diabetes care and management (insulin monitoring, carb counting, emergency response)
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff
• Clinical documentation proficiency
• Ability to respond swiftly to medical needs in a school setting
• Compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing care for a student with diabetes, ensuring her safety and well-being
• Monitor blood glucose levels and administer insulin as prescribed
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding the student’s needs and care plan
• Maintain accurate health records and follow school policies regarding medication and emergencies
• Support the student’s participation in classroom activities and field trips
