Key Qualifications:
- Current and active RN license in the state of Maine (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience as a school nurse, pediatric nurse, or in a similar clinical setting is preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational abilities
- Ability to respond calmly and professionally to health emergencies
- Knowledge of state and federal health and safety regulations for schools
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Excellent documentation, record-keeping, and computer skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff
- Manage and administer medications according to school policy and physician orders
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic health needs
- Conduct health screenings and support wellness initiatives
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to foster a healthy, safe learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of all student interactions and interventions
- Participate in the development of policies and emergency action plans
