A School Nurse position is available for a summer session assignment in Bangor, PA, working onsite within an educational setting. The role supports student wellness by providing preventative health services, addressing student illness or injury, and ensuring a safe environment for participation in school activities.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage student illnesses and injuries, providing first aid as needed
• Deliver preventive health services that support students’ physical, mental, emotional, and social development
• Educate students, parents/guardians, and staff on health-related topics
• Maintain clear communication with students and families regarding health concerns
• Implement the school health program and maintain accurate health records
• Contribute to a safe and healthy school environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania
• Certification as an Educational Specialist from the Pennsylvania Department of Education
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
• 3–5 years nursing experience preferred, ideally in pediatrics, school nursing, or related fields

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach as needed
• Effective communication skills, including vision, hearing, and speech
• Ability to lift or carry 10–25 pounds safely
• Capacity to move independently throughout the school campus and during events
