As a registered nurse working onsite in a K-12 environment, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and adolescents who face emotional regulation challenges. This contract position, spanning from early September through July of the next year, follows a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00am to 2:45pm, providing work-life balance while you make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications to students during the school day
- Conduct thorough post-restraint evaluations to ensure student safety and well-being
- Develop supportive relationships with students, offering guidance and empathetic care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students’ individualized health plans
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with district protocols
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New Jersey
- Prior experience as a pediatric and/or psychiatric nurse
- Background working with children or adolescents—experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong ability to communicate with students, families, and fellow staff members
- Patient, adaptable, and ready to connect with students who have emotional regulation impairments
