School Registered Nurse | Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

A school district in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to provide health services during the summer session. This contract position supports student wellness by addressing health needs, managing injuries or illness, and promoting a safe environment for students participating in school activities.

Location: Bethlehem, PA
Setting: Onsite at school
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Dates: July 6 – July 30
Position: 1

Responsibilities:

• Assess and treat student illnesses or injuries, providing first aid as necessary
• Deliver preventive health services that foster students’ physical, mental, emotional, and social development
• Educate students, parents/guardians, and school staff on health-related topics
• Maintain regular communication with students and families regarding health concerns
• Implement and document compliance with the school health program
• Promote and maintain a safe, healthy environment within the school

Qualifications:

• Current Pennsylvania license as a Professional Nurse (LPN or RN)
• Certification as an Educational Specialist from the Pennsylvania Department of Education
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
• 3–5 years of nursing experience preferred, with pediatric or school nursing experience highly valued

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach during work activities
• Effective communication skills including vision, hearing, and speech
• Ability to lift or carry 10–25 pounds safely
• Ability to navigate independently throughout school buildings and facilities
