Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Certified School Nurse Endorsement (mandatory)
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Experience conducting vision and hearing screenings in an educational setting
• Proven ability to assess, update, and manage individualized education programs (IEPs) and student health plans
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit to engage with students, families, staff, and fellow RNs

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the district’s lead Certified School Nurse, supporting multiple campuses
• Perform and document hearing and vision screenings as required
• Coordinate, update, and maintain accurate IEPs and individualized health plans for students
• Provide direct nursing care and health education tailored to students’ diverse needs
• Collaborate with a network of RNs to foster a safe and healthy learning environment
• Act as a crucial resource for school health policy and wellness initiatives
