Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Certified School Nurse Endorsement
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience conducting hearing and vision screenings within a school setting
- Proficiency in developing, updating, and maintaining Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and health plans
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as the lead CSN, collaborating with a supportive team of district RNs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the district’s primary Certified School Nurse, providing expert health services and leadership
- Conduct hearing and vision screenings to monitor and support student health
- Assess, update, and manage individual student health plans and IEPs, coordinating care and accommodations
- Deliver education to students, staff, and families regarding important health issues and safe practices
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state mandates
- Collaborate closely with school staff, administrators, and external healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive student care
