School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Boston, Massachusetts

This opportunity seeks a Registered Nurse with school nursing experience to support student health needs in a fast-paced academic setting located in Boston, MA. The contract assignment runs from ASAP to June 22nd, providing essential care for children throughout the school day.

Ideal candidates will have direct experience working in school environments and possess strong skills in managing chronic conditions—particularly diabetes, as several students require specialized care. This role involves performing general nursing duties to promote student well-being and ensure a safe learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care and health assessments to students during school hours
• Administer medication and manage diabetes care plans as needed
• Monitor and document health concerns, ensuring compliance with health policies
• Collaborate with school staff and families to address medical needs and emergency protocols
• Remain on-site throughout the day, allowing 45 minutes for lunch, maintaining presence for student support

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current RN license and certification relevant to school nursing
• Previous experience working as a school nurse, demonstrating familiarity with pediatric care in educational settings
• Experience with diabetic care management is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff
• Ability to work 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM
