This is a unique contract opportunity supporting a 20-year-old student who attends school in Concord. You’ll play a vital, hands-on role each day, ensuring their health and safety during transportation and throughout their school routine.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN license in Massachusetts
- Previous experience in school nursing or working with students is highly valued
- Proficiency in suctioning or airway management, or a willingness to learn
- Ability to work compassionately and patiently with students who have complex medical needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Dependable and organized, with a professional approach to confidentiality and care
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care before, during, and after transport to school
- Monitor the student’s health status and perform suctioning as needed during transportation
- Remain vigilant and responsive to medical needs throughout the school day (3.5-4 hours daily, totaling around 20 hours per week)
- Document nursing interventions and communicate with school personnel and caregivers as appropriate
- Maintain a positive, supportive environment to foster trust and a sense of security for the student
