School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Boston, Massachusetts

This is a unique contract opportunity supporting a 20-year-old student who attends school in Concord. You’ll play a vital, hands-on role each day, ensuring their health and safety during transportation and throughout their school routine.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN or LPN license in Massachusetts
• Previous experience in school nursing or working with students is highly valued
• Proficiency in suctioning or airway management, or a willingness to learn
• Ability to work compassionately and patiently with students who have complex medical needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Dependable and organized, with a professional approach to confidentiality and care

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care before, during, and after transport to school
• Monitor the student’s health status and perform suctioning as needed during transportation
• Remain vigilant and responsive to medical needs throughout the school day (3.5-4 hours daily, totaling around 20 hours per week)
• Document nursing interventions and communicate with school personnel and caregivers as appropriate
• Maintain a positive, supportive environment to foster trust and a sense of security for the student
