School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Boston, Massachusetts

Experience a rewarding contract position as a Registered Nurse supporting a student in a school setting near Boston, MA. This full-time role focuses on providing dedicated one-on-one care throughout the school day, including riding the bus with your assigned student to ensure safety from home to classroom and back.

Utilize your expertise in school nursing to assist a child with complex medical needs, including managing a feeding tube, overseeing a tracheostomy, and monitoring for seizures. Compassion, attention to detail, and calm decision-making in urgent situations are essential, and you’ll play a critical role in supporting both the student’s health and their educational access.

Preferred qualifications and desired experience include:

• Active Massachusetts RN license, in good standing
• Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care
• Confidence with feeding tubes and trach care, including suctioning and cleaning
• Experience monitoring and responding to seizures
• Comfortable providing care during student transport (bus riding)
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff
• Commitment to confidentiality and creating a supportive educational environment

Responsibilities in this position will include:

• Deliver direct one-on-one nursing care and monitor the student’s health throughout the school day
• Health interventions as needed, including seizure precautions, feeding tube and trach management
• Safely assist the student on and off the school bus daily and remain vigilant while in transit
• Document care provided and communicate changes or concerns promptly
• Serve as a compassionate and steady advocate for the student’s wellbeing on campus
