A school nursing position is available in Waltham, MA, supporting a unique transportation nursing role within a K-12 educational setting. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 15, 2026, and involves working closely with a student requiring specialized care during transport.

Position Details:

• Part-time, approximately 1 hour per day
• Morning pickup at the student’s home at 7:00 AM to assist with transportation to Beverly School for the Deaf
• Afternoon pickup at 1:00 PM to escort the student back to Waltham
• Focus on safe transport and health monitoring throughout the route
• Onsite presence required

Candidate Qualifications:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Massachusetts
• Experience with pediatric populations, particularly children with autism and seizure disorders
• Ability to provide attentive care to a non-speaking child during transport
• Strong communication skills and the capacity for patient, compassionate interaction

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the student’s health and safety during transport
• Administer any necessary care related to seizure disorder and other health needs
• Coordinate with school personnel and transportation providers to ensure smooth transitions
• Maintain accurate records pertinent to the student's health status while in transit
