Make a difference each day as a transportation nurse, riding alongside a student to ensure their well-being and safety while they commute to and from school. This contract position is perfect for an RN seeking flexibility and the opportunity to support students with specialized care needs. You'll ride a school bus on a split-shift schedule, assisting one student with a seizure disorder—offering peace of mind to both the student and their family.

This is an excellent fit if you are committed to supporting students in a unique school-based environment and value the stability of a Monday through Friday position. Compensation for this rewarding role is offered at $37 to $40 per hour for RNs.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license required; LPN/LVN with school-based experience also considered
  • Previous experience in school health or pediatric care preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Comfortable working as the sole healthcare provider during student transport
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, and a caring, observant demeanor

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accompany and supervise one student on the school bus during morning and afternoon routes (6:45-8:45 AM and 12:45-3:45 PM)
  • Monitor for any signs or symptoms of seizure activity, remaining alert and ready to respond if needed
  • Provide basic nursing care or emergency interventions per the student’s care plan
  • Collaborate proactively with school staff and the student’s family to maintain consistent and effective care
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of daily observations and any interventions
