School Nurse – Camden, SC

Soliant is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly organized School Nurse to support students and staff within a school district. The ideal candidate will promote student wellness, provide direct nursing care, manage health records, and collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments and basic healthcare services to students and staff.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders and district policies.
• Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, and severe allergies.
• Develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
• Conduct health screenings, including vision, hearing, and other required evaluations.
• Maintain accurate, confidential health records and documentation.
• Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics and preventive care.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and healthcare providers to support student wellness.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, district policies, and nursing standards.

Duties

• Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate interventions.
• Track immunization records and ensure compliance with state requirements.
• Monitor communicable diseases and implement infection-control measures.
• Coordinate referrals to outside healthcare providers when necessary.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings related to student health and accommodations.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of school health policies.
• Train school personnel on health-related procedures and emergency protocols.
• Document all nursing services, incidents, and communications accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications
• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Ability to pass all required background checks and district onboarding requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous school nursing, pediatric, public health, or community health experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
• Knowledge of state school health regulations and special education health requirements.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
