Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license valid in Virginia (or eligibility for licensure in VA)
- Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or community health nursing preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Exceptional communication abilities, confident when working with students, families, and staff
- Adaptable, compassionate, and proactive in managing student health needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care, administer medications, and manage chronic conditions for students in accordance with physician orders and school policy
- Assess and respond to student health issues, injuries, and emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation and health records per regulatory standards
- Educate students and staff about health practices, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and health providers to support Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Section 504/IEP accommodations
- Participate in health screenings, immunization compliance, and infection control activities
- Serve as a trusted resource for health-related concerns within the school environment
