Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current Illinois RN license, in good standing
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential required
- Previous experience in a school-based nursing setting preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, proactive, and organized approach to student care
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care, health screenings, and emergency response for students and staff
- Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with specific needs
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support students’ holistic health
- Administer medications and manage chronic conditions under established protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely health records per regulatory guidelines
- Participate in health education initiatives and wellness promotion activities within the school community
- Serve as a resource for communicable disease management and public health best practices
